CAPE offers three types of English Language Programs for individuals, each designed to meet different needs: General English, English for Academic Purposes, and American Business English.

In all of CAPE's English Language Programs, the four language skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing are addressed, but students are particularly encouraged to take advantage of living in an English-speaking community to improve their listening and speaking skills. Classroom work therefore emphasizes the interactive use of spoken English, combining intensive English language training with preparation for cross-cultural experiences.

Courses are designed at the beginning, intermediate and advanced levels, and individuals may register for either a 6-week or a 10-week term, as the courses are offered on an ongoing basis throughout the year. Placement exams are administered at the beginning of each term to determine the appropriate level for each student. CAPE sponsors these programs only for groups of 20 or more.
