The International Program for Middle/High School Students
(This program will be sponsored upon request for groups of 20 or more students.)

Since 1991, CAPE has organized special language and culture programs for Asian students attending secondary schools, primarily from Korea and Japan. Classroom language instruction is supplemented by a variety of activities which promote cultural learning and English skills enhancement through interaction with American peers. Through observations and interactive activities at various secondary schools in Honolulu, participants are able to initiate friendships with American counterparts and gain insights into the American school system. The Middle/High School participants also participate in the Hawai`i Host Friends program, which allows them to share leisure time with local hosts, further developing cross-cultural understanding and often launching close friendships between families.
